Our People

Occupational Health & Safety

Under Taiwan's Occupational Safety and Health Act, Enrestec has adopted Occupational Safety and Health Management Regulations covering every workplace at our Pingnan Plants 1 and 2. They apply to all employees, non-employee workers and contractors working on site, with the goal of a safe workplace free of occupational injuries.

Occupational Safety and Health Committee

Established under Article 23 of the Act and chaired by the President, the committee has 10 members, including 2 worker representatives and 1 occupational health nurse, and meets quarterly. It met 4 times in 2025, covering the on-site nurse's reports, employee health checks, fire brigade drills and the annual worker health service plan.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

Our hazard identification procedure classifies hazards into 23 categories and rates risk by severity and likelihood, with defined criteria for unacceptable risk to prioritise controls. In 2025 we assessed the engineering, quality assurance, pyrolysis and EHS units and contractor work, identifying 13 hazards — all low or minor, acceptable risks — and continued to strengthen maintenance, inspections and training.

Occupational Injury Statistics

Item 2023 2024 2025
Total hours worked 201,344 231,808 237,889
Fatalities from work-related injury 0 0 0
High-consequence injuries (excl. fatalities) 0 0 0
Recordable work-related injuries 6 1 2
Recordable injury rate 29.80 4.31 8.41

Pingnan Plants 1 and 2 combined, excluding commuting accidents; rate = cases ÷ hours worked × 1,000,000. The two recordable injuries in 2025 resulted in one lost workday; we have since reinforced on-site safety training, hazard labelling and warning signs.

Safety Training

New employees receive 3–6 hours of induction training on their first day, including our EHS policy and safety rules, with a 100% completion rate in 2025. We also provide statutory training for supervisors, operators of cranes and forklifts, first aiders and more, and all operators of designated machinery hold the required licences. In 2025 we delivered 18 participant-sessions, 68 hours in total, of specialised safety training.

Contractor Safety

Our contractor safety and health procedure requires contractors to sign a safety, health and environmental commitment before contracting, and hot-work permits and hazard notifications before entering the site, with safety briefings and training by our EHS office. No contractor safety incidents occurred in 2025.

Employee Health

  • Annual general health checks, plus special health checks for work involving heat, noise or dust. All 89 employees completed them in 2025, at no cost to employees.
  • An occupational health nurse is on site 4 times a month and an occupational medicine physician 4 times a year.
  • Programmes to prevent illness from abnormal workloads and to protect maternal health, with health management for shift, night and long-hours workers.
  • No cases of occupational disease in 2025.
