01 / ABOUT Enrestec plant at Pingnan Industrial Park

The world's first waste tire pyrolysis plant in 24-hour commercial operation

Founded in 2005 with pyrolysis at its core, Enrestec opened the world's first round-the-clock commercial waste tire pyrolysis plant at Pingnan Industrial Park, Taiwan, in 2013. In 2018 our recovered carbon black was formally adopted by one of the world's top ten tire makers, and we supplied pyrolysis equipment to Eco Infinic in Thailand. In 2020 we established our subsidiary Upcycle to open Taiwan's second pyrolysis plant. Enrestec is one of the few companies worldwide with both continuous and semi-continuous pyrolysis technologies.

The Second Life of a Tire

At the end of its life, a tire comes back to Enrestec, where pyrolysis breaks it down into five resources that return to the tire and industrial supply chain. The loop itself is a tire — and we keep it turning.

rCB GRADES · NEW JB-223

From Pyrolysis to Powder: rCB in Every Grade

Pyrolysis technology from Enrestec and Upcycle, tight control of process parameters and our newly installed Hosokawa Alpine jet mill let us produce recovered carbon black as pellets or powder, by pelletizing, mechanical milling or jet milling, with the particle size and properties each application needs. Our newest grade, JB-223, is made from selected truck tires and jet-milled to D99 < 10 µm for applications that demand finer particles.

Proprietary pyrolysis

With more than 20 years in tire pyrolysis, Enrestec runs its patented continuous pyrolysis technology around the clock, while subsidiary Upcycle operates semi-continuous pyrolysis for a wider range of organic waste. rCB quality is decided from the pyrolysis step onward.

Process parameter control

Key parameters such as pyrolysis temperature, residence time and feed rate are set for each grade and fine-tuned using test data, keeping surface properties and purity consistent from batch to batch.

Two milling technologies

We run both mechanical mills and jet mills. Mechanical milling produces powder grades such as PB-610, while our new Hosokawa Alpine fluidised bed opposed jet mill from Germany grinds particles against each other with no metal contamination — producing the ultrafine powder JB-223 and the finer-milled, pelletized JB-325.

Quality & certification

Certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 with ISO 14067 product carbon footprints, our rCB complies with EU REACH and PAH requirements and is supplied to global tire makers and the Japanese market.

JB-223

D99 < 10 µm

Made from carefully selected truck tires and milled on our Hosokawa Alpine jet mill to an aggregate size distribution of D99 < 10 µm — 99% below 10 microns. A narrow size distribution gives excellent dispersion, grinding without media keeps metal contamination out, and the grade is ISCC PLUS certified with a product carbon footprint and LCA.

rCB STRUCTURE

Inside rCB: From Pellet to Nanoparticle

Recovered carbon black has four levels of structure. Milling works at the agglomerate level: the finer and more even the agglomerates, the better the carbon black disperses in rubber or plastics.

  1. ≈ 1 mm Pellet

How rCB ships — easy to convey and dose, then dispersed during mixing.

  2. ≈ 1–100 µm Agglomerate

Aggregates loosely held together; milling and mixing break them apart.

  3. ~ hundreds of nm Aggregate

Primary particles fused into a stable branched structure — the unit that gives carbon black its reinforcing effect.

  4. ≈ 10–100 nm Primary particle

Made of short, offset carbon layers, with oxygen-containing groups on the surface.

Where milling works

Jet milling breaks agglomerates down below 10 µm: JB-223 reaches an aggregate size distribution of D99 < 10 µm, for faster, more even dispersion in your formulation.

Schematic only; sizes are nominal, not measured values.

rCB · PB-365

Recovered Carbon Black PB-365

  • Waste reduction

Our recovered carbon black is made from end-of-life tires and waste rubber. Pyrolysis turns this waste back into industrial raw material, avoiding the dioxins produced by tire incineration and the environmental and sanitation problems of illegal dumping.

  • Recycled content

Recovered carbon black is used in plastics, industrial rubber and printing inks, and is already in use by tire manufacturers. It can serve as a raw material for masterbatch and inks, or be returned to tire makers as carbon black feedstock — reducing reliance on fossil-based carbon black, lowering CO2 emissions and cutting raw material costs.

TPO · LOW-SULFUR FUEL OIL

Low-Sulfur Fuel Oil

  • Waste reduction

End-of-life tires and waste rubber that would otherwise be disposed of as waste are converted into recycled oil, helping tire makers meet their responsibility for end-of-life tires and ensuring that Taiwan's waste tires are properly treated.

  • Recycled content

Ground tire rubber is usually burned directly as fuel. Enrestec's pyrolysis process instead converts end-of-life tires into fuel oil, solving local waste problems and turning domestic waste into usable energy — a meaningful contribution for Taiwan, which imports almost all of its energy.

08 / MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Keeping Tires in Motion

“We are no longer just a waste processor — we are a carbon-asset creator, helping customers break through in the wave of decarbonization.”

As net zero moves from aspiration to a hard market requirement, Enrestec remains committed to its mission of harmony between resource circulation and the environment — giving waste a second life by turning end-of-life tires into recycled materials with verified low-carbon credentials, and turning environmental costs into financial value for our customers.

We will continue to bring Taiwan's home-grown pyrolysis technology to the world and develop high-grade specialty recovered carbon black, creating long-term value for shareholders and offering a lasting solution to the global waste-tire problem.
